Our Story

Inspired by creators like Mudan and Abroad in Japan, Templathon started in 2024 — with me commenting on Mudan’s channel every day for 160+ days, learning, engaging, and dreaming about exploring Japan. What began as a lighthearted challenge, visiting nearly every main temple in Tokyo, quickly grew into a 160+ day challenge across Japan — including 70 temples in a single day in Kyoto. Our mission: combine adventure with respect for Japan’s culture and heritage, showing that fast-paced exploration can still honor local traditions. We share our routes and experiences to inspire thoughtful, high-energy travel, and now you can join the journey and start your own Templathon.

Speedrunning isn’t just a game.
It’s mastering routes, shortcuts, and strategy—fast.
Templathon applies the same principle to Japan.Race through centuries of history. Discover culture with precision, curiosity, and respect.
Not just sightseeing. Templathon is high-energy, intentional exploration.

120+ temples and shrines visited. 2 records set.
Watch the film: 36,000 views and counting.
